Fetal Ultrasound

An ultrasound scan can be done anytime during the pregnancy.  Our five Pregnancy Help Centers provide a free of charge, limited fetal ultrasound service for the purpose of:

  • Confirming the pregnancy (that there is a pregnancy in the uterus)
  • Confirming viability (that the baby’s heart is beating)
  • Taking measurements to estimate the gestational age (how far along the baby is developed in weeks and days)
  • Giving an estimated due date.

What is a fetal Ultrasound?

A fetal ultrasound is a test that uses sound waves to create an image of your unborn baby on a video screen.  The image confirms the pregnancy, helps a doctor to know how your baby is doing, and gives you a peek at the baby as well.

When is a fetal ultrasound done?

An ultrasound scan can be done anytime during the pregnancy. A free of charge, limited fetal ultrasound service for the purpose of:

  • Confirming the pregnancy (that there is a pregnancy in the uterus)
